T-Ball/Baseball/School

Peyton and Chase started T-Ball and Baseball this week. This is Peyton's first time and at first he had reservations about playing but Craig talked him into it and Peyton ended up having a lot of fun. He got a new bat, and we are still on the lookout for a right-handed glove. All we could find were pink ones. Peyty throws left and hits right. Chase started his 4th season of T-Ball which is now coach-pitch baseball.

Peyton also started Pre-School on Monday with Miss Heidi. She is a good friend of mine and she has a great school. She engages the kids and has lots of fun stuff for them to do and learn. Chase was in her school when he was 2. He loved it as well. Peyton didn't want to go to school at first, but once we got there, he was waving bye-bye sooner than I had anticipated. The next morning he told me that it I had left him there too long. The school is 3 hours/ 3 days a week. Today he had reservations as well, but he let me leave him there alone rather quickly. When we came to pick him up he was already at the door with his backpack on. He says he likes school and is having fun.

Peyton is having 2 firsts in his life right now. He is also not used to being away from me. I am his Sunbeam teacher at church, so we are always together. I love the fact that now he will learn how to listen to and follow directions from people that are not his parents.

UTAH Vacation

Our family was able to fly to Utah for 2 weeks to visit my family. While we were there I celebrated my 38th birthday. It was nice to have a family party, the last one I got to celebrate with them was way back in 2001.

Waiting to fly from the Birmingham Airport.

Peyty sat by me. He was very good.

Dinosaur museum at BYU.

My best friend Christine and I celebrated our birthdays together. Hers is the 10th and mine is the 11th.

We had a mini-reunion with cousins from my mom's side.

We got to ride on the Heber Creeper.

Bathroom Talk

Craig spent most of today working on the downstairs bathroom. He put up more sheet rock, the hardie board for the tile tub surround and put in the bamboo flooring. It is really coming together.

A look into the bathroom from the bedroom. There is a sliding door here.

Hardie backer board and the plastic that goes under it. Will be tiled.

Bamboo flooring that was left over from main flooring job.

There was just barely enough left over to do the bathroom floor. Luckily we had these left over boards so we were able to save a lot of money not having to buy new flooring. Craig installed this floor himself. Time to go toilet shopping.

Still needs drywall.

Still needs drywall. We bought a new shower head that has a handheld spout that rests inside of a permanent one.

Just added the green drywall today.

Pedestal sink top that was in the half-bath. If it doesn't work we will buy a different one with a base that hold towels, cleansers, etc. instead. If we use this sink it will get a pretty new faucet.

Last but not least, here is my 'antique' fan that I bought at an antique store for 15 bucks. It is covered in cobwebs and is currently residing on top of the deep freezer in the garage. I was told that with the right wiring it will work but I just want to display it, most likely in my bedroom. This baby is so old it was even made in America!

The Latest

Here are pictures of the latest things that we have done in the house.

Recently painted lamp now has pretty new lampshade.

Close-up of lampshade.

Mirror in kids' bathroom is on the wall at last!

Towel hangers are on the wall in the kids' bathroom.

Hand-rail to basement is now black instead of white.

Close-up of new shower curtain hangers in master bath.

Ugly, nasty doors are gone, pretty shower curtain is up and in their place.

In the foyer, Craig hung my mirror up on the wall.

New dresser matches the rest of the furniture in our bedroom.

Formerly white-framed half-bath mirror will be hung in the basement bathroom.

My chair got a pillow.

I love it!
